“Massage has had a positive effect on every medical condition we’ve looked at.”
— Tiffany Fields PhD. University of Miami School of Medicine
Lora Postma
In 1997 I became a British Columbia Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Now, over two decades later, I continue to practice both the skill and the art of massage therapy. While there is a fundamental knowledge base we have all been schooled in, and a set of skills in which all RMT’s have been trained, we each evolve from that foundation in our own unique way.
I use both the words “skill” and “art” because I believe that any ability I may have to facilitate healing in the person I am working with is not just my level of knowledge or skill with regards to the human body, but also my ability to make a connection to that person. Empathy and understanding are, in my opinion, key components to the success of any therapeutic relationship.
My commitment to you, as a health care provider, is to help you navigate your way towards optimal health and ease in your body, both through the many skills gathered over the last 2+ decades, and my ability to listen deeply to you and your experience of your own body. I also will not hesitate to refer you to someone with a different skill set, if I feel that skill set will more efficiently bring you to your health goals.
I practice “evidence-based” massage therapy, working with a biopsychosocial model for health, as well as the newest research on pain science, and the physiological effects of massage therapy. All this may sound quite dry and cerebral, but the real-time benefits to you can have a profound impact on your physical and mental health and wellbeing!
This link to the RMTBC website will outline some of the conditions we work with as RMT’s as well as possible therapeutic outcomes.

“Lora has helped me immensely over the last couple of years. Her Massage treatments are the only thing that has helped my chronic neck pain and nerve impingement. I walk out of my treatments feeling amazing every single time.”
“I have been a client of Lora’s for 6 years in her capacity as an RMT and exercise therapist. As I have had several health issues, I have found Lora to be extremely knowledgeable and tuned into my physical needs. This has, on a weekly basis, helped sustain and maintain my best possible mobility. Lora’s warmth and kindness, along with her skill, are highly impactful to my quality of life.”
